7/29/10: Review of Possum Trot by Jeff (Ashburn, Va.)

Not a difficult course so I'd recommend it to other hackers like myself; lower handicaps won't be challenged much. Despite what I read in other reviews the staff was very friendly and helpful, course in pretty decent condition for this time of year, great practice facilities. Juniors 17 and under playing free is a huge plus.

7/29/10: Review of Long Bay Club by Lee (Durham, N.C.)

Played Long Bay on July 23rd, 2010. We got to the clubhouse and ordered coffee before we played and the response was, "We don't have coffee this early in the morning." We had a tee time for 7:30 a.m. and we had to wait on the starter. Then the starter sent us to the back nine to start even though we had tee times scheduled well in advance. When we made the turn, there were a lot of groups in front of us and play came to a standstill. How frustrating on this very hot day! As mentioned, it was an extremely hot day and the cart lady only showed up one time the entire round and that was on Hole #16 as we almost completed our round. The fairways were partially brown; however, the greens were in good shape. We set up tee times on the internet and saved ourselves some money by doing so, but Jack would not be proud of the shape the course is in, nor the service that was provided. This high end course needs an overhaul. Thanks, but no thanks. Will not play again!

7/29/10: Review of MB National King's North by Joe (Fairfax, Va.)

1) Was hitting balls on the range at 8:45 and a guy picked up all the balls. I asked to hit a few more and he said the range closed at 9:00. I told him I only wanted to hit a few more balls and he was reluctant to let me do so. Not to friendly. (Older man with cigar) 2) Front nine took almost 3 hours w/o a ranger in site. Asked how long normally took for 18 while getting food and person stated 4-4.5 hours. After calling pro shop on hole 11 after noticing 2 groups ahead of us had 3 holes open they finally sped the round up. It shouldn't have taken my call for this to happen. Greens were not in good shape and recently punched. I was not made aware of this before round.

7/29/10: Review of TPC of Myrtle Beach by Lincoln (Brooklyn, N.Y.)

I need to know when paying whether its cart path only or not. All that back and forth walking to and from the cart is not fun on a 95+ day. Option to use a pull cart should be offered. That way I get to walk directly to the ball.

The course was in great shape. It is the typical Dye design with huge mounds and tiny bunkers scattered around the greens. This was an enjoyable course that will definitely be on the return list.

Excellent course for the money. The staff was very friendly and the course was in great shape for the value. The layout is nice in that it is spread out well and has some challenging holes. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a great round for a reasonable price.

7/28/10: Review of Tidewater by Alex (Oakwood, Va.)

Greens had been aerated about 1 week before visit and were in poor condition. They were very bumpy and extremely slow. This was disappointing because I was not informed of this when booking online and really took away from the round. However, the scenery and views from the course are unlike any of the other 30-40 courses I have played in the Myrtle Beach area. The course isn't the most challenging or interesting layout but it is by far the most scenic in the area.

7/28/10: Review of Shaftesbury Glen by David

We just played 7-22-10. This is a course we schedule to play every time we come to Myrtle Beach. This course offers one of the best pure golf values in Myrtle Beach. The greens and bunkering are outstanding. The overall course design is excellent. We found the course conditions to be very good for July with only some areas of the fairways suffering from the heat. A must-play if you love bentgrass greens. I would rank them in the top 3 bentgrass greens in Myrtle Beach. I can?t wait to go back.

7/27/10: Review of Blackmoor by Jason (Youngstown, Ohio)

Staff was great. I really enjoyed the two tiered fairways. Doglegs made the course fun to play as well. My wife who is a high handicapper played with me on this day ... and she loved it. The course was very "woman" friendly. This was my second time at Blackmoor. Something that I cannot say for other Myrtle Beach courses. After playing several of the courses in the area over the last several years ... It's time for me to start going back to my favorites ... and Blackmoor is definitely one of them.
