Introducing the best new golf course to open in the Myrtle Beach area in a long long time- the Founders Club at Pawleys Island- opened in February 2008.
The Founders Club at Pawleys Island offers guests a unique experience in the Pawleys Island area with 18 uniquely designed golf holes. Built on the former sight of Sea Gulf Golf Club, our guests come away with remembering not only their best shot, but every shot. A Thomas Walker design that offers stuffing visuals, as well as isolated teeing areas, will give our golfers something special to remember.
Once your experience has concluded, a new Lowcountry-style clubhouse with a wrap-around porch awaits you for a relaxing meal in our dining or meeting facilities, over looking the beauty of the 18th Hole.

Very difficult course. Lots of sand. Clubhouse is nice and new. Starters were great. Greens a little spotty but didn't distract from the round. Highly recommend.

Even with cart-path-only, easy to play and walk around.

A Beautiful course but local knowledge is key. I hit the ball well but putting was a real issue. Birdying 18 made the day less painful.

Facility has made an obvious effort at creating top rate course. Loved the sand cart paths. Greens in pristine shape. On board GPS system great addition especially if had never played the course. Had iPhone satellite image and yardage with Golfshot but ended up just keeping my stats on it.

Disappointed that there was no driving range - important to our group.

Great layout and fairways in awesome shape. Recently overseeded greens a tad bit too slow, but greens in great condition. Will put this course in regular rotation to play.

Course was very helpful in letting me go off first in the morning being a single player. Did not use your golf coordinator because of no knowledge to this amenity.

Fair course, decent layout. Not my type of course. Would not play it again or recommend it.

It was an unusual course for me with all the waste bunkers. I called to be sure that there was no maintenance going on and was told that the greens had been aerated 3 weeks earlier. I should have asked had they recovered. they were very bumpy and still recovering. I would have chosen another course had i known the shape they were in. If the greens were in better shape, i could have rated it higher. since this was the only time i was going to play i would have liked to have the course in tip top shape. I probably would have chosen another course to play had i known what shape they were in.

I played this course on Apr 26 and was very impressed. The course was in great condition and although the are a lot of waste bunkers they usually don't come into play. It looks more intimidating than it is. Pro staff was very very friendly and even offered an unsolicited reduction in my green fees.

Commented on November 18, 2008: "Played the Founders Club on Saturday Nov. 15. I really enjoyed the course; it is a very good test. The 9th hole is a hole that could be a fantastic finishing hole if the trees on the left corner off the tee were taken out so the player looked directly at the lake and bunker. The fairway over the corner and to the lay up area need to be wider with some trees on the right taken out. This could be a beautiful golf hole. If this course was in a different area of the Grand Strand it would be one of the more popular courses in the area. Well worth the time to play."

Commented on November 13, 2008: "Played Nov. 6, played it again Nov 7. I like the course spread out a little. Waste bunkers down each side of the fairway, if you hit it halfway straight they are not in play a lot. I hit out of waste bunkers three times per round. Lots of variety, we all enjoyed both rounds."
