Average Score (12)

Greg Norman’s unique design at Barefoot Resort has only 60 acres of mowable grass existing on all 18 holes. Norman uses tactical landscaping and the site’s natural vegetation to frame each hole. The course also features several holes along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway. Norman, award-winning designer, is excited about his design, stating “We have a fabulous piece of property with great elevations and the developer has spared no expense to ensure that this course is the absolute best it can be.”Also ranked in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play-2004” and was #28 in the “Top 50 Courses of Myrtle Beach” by Golf Digest. New in 2006, a 30-acre lighted practice facility complete with teaching school, New York-style pizzeria and deli sports bar.

I have wanted to play this course since its inception. Was disappointed with overall condition especially the greenside bunkers. This is one course that is truly surrounded with condos.

The Norman course is my third favorite course at Barefoot. The design is great and the conditions are always fantastic. The par-3 along the waterway is a very memorable hole.

All the Barefoot courses are nice. I think the Norman is the most underrated. It gets the least play but has the smoothest, quickest greens. They have very subtle break and tough pitch shots if you miss the green. It has 2 of the best par 3s and a couple of really nice par 5s.

Good course. One green had a bare line through it. Other than that it was nice.

Nice course to end the trip on. Go home with decent scores.

On Barefoot – Dye:

We played the back tees which probably was a mistake for me. My buddy scored an 82 from back there, so I played it with him. Your starter needs to keep his opinion of who should play back there to himself (Ace). If I want to spend my money, not slow anyone down, and torture myself, that should not be discouraged by anyone on your staff.

On Barefoot – Fazio:

Super course and experience. Your staff at the carts do a great job of juggling three courses.

On Barefoot – Love:

Good enough to bring me back in future years.

On MB National – King’s North:

My favorite course in Myrtle Beach. Beautifully maintained while providing various shots and decisions.

On Long Bay Club:

Love the course. Played it six times now and will always make it part of my golf trips.

Enjoyed my time at the course Saturday. Course conditions lived up to my expectations. The only problem that I had was that the course ranger on the first seven holes continued to tell us to speed up at least 4 times. Our GPS system told use we were 7 mins. behind pace. To my knowledge that is less than half of a hole behind. It got to a point that we finally told him that we were tired of being bothered and that we had paid a lot of money to play and to leave us alone. We did not have anyone behind us that we were holding up, I counted 3 times that the group behind us had to wait to hit their approach shots. I could understand if the group behind us complained if we were slow playing but I don't believe that was the case since the ranger always came from the hole in front of us. After the final altercation with the ranger we were not bothered again. I still enjoyed my experience and plan to play other Barefoot courses in the future.
