4650 Heather Glen Way, Little River, SC
Willard Byrd and Clyde Johnston combined their genius to create this four hundred acre golf masterpiece. Built in 1987 it still continues to garner major printed attention and is hailed as one of the "Top 50 Public Courses in America", "Top 5 in South Carolina", Golf Digest's "Places to Play" and given 4.5 Stars. Lined with ancient oaks and pines players stay dedicated to this course returning year after year.

Soaked course again; however, I could see a lack of tee sign consistency as well as no towels in the carts especially after the heavy rains.

We hadn't been back to Heather Glen in a while and I can't say why. We played all three nines on a perfect Friday and considering the course had rain for an entire week prior to our visit the conditions were great. We'll be back next year for sure!

This is one of our favorite courses. The Spectacle golf hole is firmly entrenched in our family lore and always makes for stories around the Sea Captain's table.

Heather Glen is still one of the greats. The course has matured, was very well maintained though November '09 was very wet. The trouble is mostly at the front of the greens, take plenty of club to get over it and you'll have a great day.

We played a 27 hole scramble here on Saturday. Our pace of play was very good because of the spacing of players, the course was in very good condition, and the challenges of the course were fair.

Found the fairways to be a little bald (not filled in). Tough pin placements from what I remember. Probably a little too difficult for our group.

Played the Red and White nines. The Blue nine needs one more week to recover from aerification. GREAT golf course. Players of all skill levels can play this course. Course was in great shape, and very enjoyable. Hard to beat for $57 at the beach!
