Oyster Bay
614 Lake Shore Dr., Sunset Beach, NC
7.4
Rated the "Resort Course of the Year" upon it's opening in 1983 this course still doesn't disappoint even more than 24 years later. The various principles of golf course architecture can be observed on every hole with variety and originality brought to you by Developer Larry Young and Dan Maples. Challenging with it's two island greens boasting par 3's this is one of the most diversified not only in North Carolina, but nationwide. Golfers love the 6700 yards and par 70 play while reveling in the beautiful greens and various aquatic hazards.

Played August 23rd. It had rained hard the day before, so we weren't sure it was even going to be open ... Not only that, it was in great shape. We only had one fairway that was cart path only, the rest of them were as usual. This is realy a beautiful place to play. The views are stunning, and a lot of wildlife. The greens were PERFECT, fast and true.
Loved it!

Played it for the first time. Nice layout, fun finishing holes, but we were disappointed with the conditions. Tee boxes were really beat up, greens were OK, fairways were pretty good. Good deal with lunch and breakfast.

Although a wonderful course to play, the course was in horrible shape and a total disappointment. Staff was first class understanding. They comped our rounds.

Grrens were not in the best condition, fairways were fine. Some tees were moved way forward on our day there which really made the holes easy and our group not happy.

This course advertizes that the greens had been totally redone and in excellent condition. This was not the case. Greens were in poor shape.

They did a good job keeping us off the portions of the greens that were dead. Layout is always beautiful.

Great course, not sure if this was the one with winter kill on the greens and non flat tee boxes. We played Moorland, Parkland, Heathland, Oyster Bay, Heritage (was 1st-class operation).
